Tour de France films to be shown locally -- benefit for Girls on the Run Central New York

TO Benefit Girls On The Run Central New York
COOPERSTOWN, NY, MARCH 6, 2012: In conjunction with Girls on the
Run Central New York, Gripped Films is pleased to announce two
special screening events of an intimate presentation of a series
of three to five minute features filmed at the 2011 Tour de France
for NBC and Versus. The features offer a behind the scenes view
of the Tour which few are privy to.
The screenings will be on Friday March 30th at 7:00 pm in the
National Baseball Hall of Fame, Bullpen Theatre (doors open at
6:30 pm) and on Saturday, March 31 at 1:30 pm at the Oneonta
Theatre, Small Theatre, (doors open at 1pm).
A departure from the previous feature-length work produced by
Gripped Films this will be Award-winning director/writer/editor
for Gripped Films, Jason Berry will explain what went into the
production of each feature and take audience questions along the

A Rochester native and graduate of RIT, Berry is excited to bring
this unique event to Upstate NY. He studied advertising and
graphics at RIT but is self taught in the art of film making. His
films have won over 15 international awards.
Using an array of HD cameras and gorilla tactics his features were
shot from unique perspectives and will take viewers past what is
typically seen on broadcast coverage of the Tour. The last
Rochester screening of Gripped Filmsâ€™ feature film â€œChasing
Legendsâ€ drew a sold out audience of over 500 people.
Each screening will last roughly 90 minutes. Tickets are available
at www.GrippedStore.com for $10 each. Tickets will also be
available at the door for each performance for $12.
All tickets include a raffle ticket to benefit Girls on the Run of
GOTRCNY is a local chapter of the national non-profit organization
Girls on the Run. GOTR is an after school program that uses the
power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of healthy
living. The research-based curriculum is designed to enhance the
social, mental, spiritual, physical and emotional health of pre-
teen girls. The 10-week character-building program teaches very
specific and well-defined social and personal skills. The program
culminates in a non-competitive 5K event which gives the girls a
chance to shine and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
